Welcome to the Materials Mechanics Group

The Materials Mechanics Group was established in 1976 at Technical University of Darmstadt within the Department of Civil Engineering and was headed by Prof. Dr T. Seeger until 2003. From 2003 to 2023, the group was led by Prof. Dr-Ing M. Vormwald. Since 2024, the group has been headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. A. Trauth. Together with the groups of Steel Structures and Timber Structures, as well as the Testing Laboratory and the PÜZ Office, it forms the Institute of Steel Structures and Materials Mechanics.
